Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, June 7, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of electoral reform.

It was agreed, — That, should the government table legislation designed to amend the Canadian election system, the Special Committee on Electoral Reform be re-constituted in accordance with the terms set out in the House Order of June 7, 2016, with respect to its membership, quorum, substitutions, its Chair and Vice-Chairs, and its powers;

That the routine motions respecting committee business adopted on June 21 and 29, 2016, by the previous Special Committee on Electoral Reform, be deemed adopted, provided that the Committee may modify these motions as required; and

That the Special Committee's adoption of this motion be reported to the House by November 30, 2016.

Motion

It was agreed, — That in relation to the questions on democratic values that the Minister of Democratic Institution intends to make available for Canadians' response on the website mydemocracy.ca, the Committee encourages the Minister to reproduce and include in its entirety the questions within this Committee's e-consultation survey, either as a replacement for other planned questions, or in addition to any other questions that the Minister wishes to include; and that the Committee report this motion to the House.

At 8:11 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:24 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 9:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
