Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 1, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of the clean growth and climate change in Canada: forestry, agriculture and waste.

Robert Coulter, by videoconference from Victoria, British Columbia, Kristin Baldwin and Doug Hooper made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Mark Warawa moved, — That the Committee resume debate on the motion moved by Mike Lake on Thursday, November 22, 2018.

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Ted Falk, Joël Godin, Mark Warawa — 3;

NAYS: William Amos, Mike Bossio, Julie Dzerowicz, Darren Fisher, Joe Peschisolido, Wayne Stetski — 6.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

Mark Warawa gave notice of the following motion:

That the Minister of Environment and Climate Change appear before the Committee to discuss the funds that Parliament approved in December 2018 as part of the Supplementary Estimates (A), 2018-19, and that she appear with her Deputy Minister for no shorter than one hour, as soon as possible.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 5:05 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed outline for the draft report for the study of clean growth and climate change in Canada: forestry, agriculture and waste, be adopted.

At 5:24 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
