Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, the Committee resumed its study on immigration consultants.

Lorne Waldman, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Raj Sharma made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Jenny Kwan moved, — That the Committee resume debate on the motion moved by Jenny Kwan on Monday, April 10, 2017.

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Jenny Kwan, Bob Saroya, David Tilson, Dave Van Kesteren — 4;

NAYS: Gary Anandasangaree, Julie Dzerowicz, Randeep Sarai, Marwan Tabbara, Salma Zahid — 5.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 4:26 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Gabrielle Frédette Fortin and Robert Kewley made statements and answered questions.

At 5:23 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:25 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
