Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 1, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of migration challenges and opportunities for Canada in the 21st century.

Hina Jilani, Allan Rock and Patti Tamara made statements and answered questions.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

David Tilson raised a point of order, questioning the right of the Chair to arrange for witnesses without first calling a subcommittee meeting.

RULING BY THE CHAIR

The Chair ruled that the call of subcommittee meetings is at the Chair’s behest.

Whereupon, David Tilson appealed the decision of the Chair.

The question: "Shall the decision of the Chair be sustained?" was put and the decision was sustained, by a show of hands: YEAS: 6; NAYS: 1.

James Milner made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
