Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Sunday, March 17, 2019, the Committee resumed its study of the revocation of Richardson International’s export registration by China.

Kyle Jeworski, by videoconference from Regina, Saskatchewan, Jean-Marc Ruest and Bernie McClean made statements and, with Rick White, answered questions.

At 4:25 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Brad Hanmer, Leroy Newman and William Gerrard made statements and answered questions.

Committee Business

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Karen Vecchio gave notice of the following motion:

That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commence a study of no less than two meetings regarding the loss of Canada’s “Buy America” exemption and how it affects the ability of Canadian business to trade and win American procurement contracts, given that Mexico has retained their exemption; that the study commence no later than Thursday, May 16, 2019; and that based on the advice from witnesses, the Committee write a report to present to the House.

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
