Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of the Government of Canada's support for the international trade of small and medium-sized businesses.

Rakesh Naidu, by videoconference from Windsor, Ontario, Karen Greve Young, Richard Rémillard and Audrey Jobin, by videoconference from Dolbeau-Mistassini, Quebec, made statements and answered questions.

At 4:52 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:55 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of priorities of Canadian stakeholders having an interest in bilateral and trilateral trade in North America between Canada, United States and Mexico, and the study of the impact of tariffs on Canadian businesses, companies and workers, the proposed budget in the amount of $48,880.08, for the Committee’s travel to Washington, D.C. in the spring of 2019, be adopted, and that the Clerk be authorized to purchase appropriate gifts and make the necessary arrangements for meals and receptions during the Committee’s travel.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of priorities of Canadian stakeholders having an interest in bilateral and trilateral trade in North America, between Canada, United States and Mexico, the proposed budget in the amount of $82,739.15, for the Committee’s travel to Mexico City and Querétaro, Mexico, in the spring of 2019 be adopted, and that the Clerk be authorized to purchase appropriate gifts and make the necessary arrangements for meals and receptions during the Committee’s travel.

At 5:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
