EVIDENCE

[Recorded by Electronic Apparatus]

[English]

Honourable members of the committee, I see a quorum.
As clerk of the committee, I must inform members that I can only receive motions for the election of the chair. The clerk cannot receive other types of motions, cannot entertain points of order, nor participate in debate. We can now proceed to the election of the chair. Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the chair must be a member of the government party.
I'm ready to receive motions for the chair.
    I nominate Julie Dabrusin.
It's been moved by Anju Dhillon that Julie Dabrusin be elected chair of the committee.
    Are there any further motions?
    I think they're concurring.
Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?
    (Motion agreed to)
The Clerk: I declare the motion carried and Julie Dabrusin duly elected chair of the committee.
    Some hon. members: Hear, hear!
I 'm going to first say, welcome, because we have a whole bunch of new members in our committee now. It is going to be great to be working together.
We're going to have to go in camera, so we can talk about what we're going to do next as a group.

[Translation]

I suggest we continue in camera.
    [The committee continued in camera.]
