The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Kevin Waugh moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee immediately undertake a study into the government's rejection of an expert-panel's decision to locate the future Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus on federal land across the street from the existing Hospital; and that the Committee call the Ministers of Environment, Heritage, and Agriculture and Mark Kristmanson, CEO of the National Capital Commission (NCC), to discuss the matter.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 2; NAYS: 5.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the media and local communities.

John Honderich, Hon. Martin Cauchon and Brian Myles made statements and, with Pierre-Paul Noreau, answered questions.

At 12:20 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:25 p.m., the sitting resumed.

James Baxter made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:35 p.m., Pierre Nantel took the Chair.

At 12:40 p.m., Larry Maguire took the Chair.

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
