Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, and Thursday, October 26, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of climate change and water and soil conservation issues.

Hans Kristensen and Cedric MacLeod, by teleconference from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, made statements and answered questions.

Motion

John Barlow moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food undertake a study of the Canada Food Guide and hear specifically from agriculture and agri-food stakeholders; and that the Committee report its findings to the House prior to the release of Part 1 of the new dietary guidance policy report.

Motion

Pierre Breton moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

At 4:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
