Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, the Committee commenced its study on Milk Protein.

Caroline Emond, Peter Gould, Dominique Benoit and Alain Bourbeau made statements and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

The Chair presented the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows.

Your Subcommittee met on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the committee invite the minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food to appear on March 21 for a two-hour meeting to proceed to the study of Main Estimates 2016-17 and discuss his mandate letter.

2. That the committee invite for one meeting representatives from Global Affairs Canada specialized in agriculture to discuss Milk Protein and international trade with relations to the Transpacific Partnership.

3. That the committee hold one meeting on the issue of the Transport of Grain in Canada following the report Pathways: Connecting Canada’s Transportation System to the World (Emerson report).

4. That the committee undertake in April 2016 a study of the Transpacific Partnership.

It was agreed, — That the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, be concurred in.

At 5:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
