Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee proceeded to the election of a Vice-Chair.

It was agreed, — That Gord Johns be elected Second Vice-Chair of the Committee.

At 11:08 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:09 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the eighth report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That, in relation to the study of barriers to transition and measurable outcomes of a successful transition, the Committee hold up to nine (9) meetings with witnesses; that each meeting consist of two (2) one hour panels consisting of up to three (3) organizations.

2. That, notwithstanding the Committee's routine motion governing the allotted time for opening remarks and questioning of witnesses, adopted on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, witnesses be assigned a maximum of five (5) minutes for their opening remarks in relation to the study on barriers to transition and measurable outcomes of a successful transition.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $20,150, for the study of barriers to transition and measurable outcomes of successful transition, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the list of witnesses for the study of barriers to transition and measurable outcomes of successful transition be adopted.

At 11:23 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:34 a.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That the text submitted to present the study of barriers to transition and measurable outcomes of successful transition, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed preliminary travel submission for the Committee’s study of needs and issues specific to Indigenous veterans be submitted to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

At 12:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
