The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Nathan Cullen, Parm Gill, Tom Lukiwski, Dave MacKenzie, Costas Menegakis, Joe Preston, Scott Reid and Nycole Turmel.

Acting Members present: David Christopherson for Craig Scott, Hon. Stéphane Dion for Hon. Dominic LeBlanc, Yvon Godin for Alexandrine Latendresse and Kevin Lamoureux for Hon. Dominic LeBlanc.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Andre Barnes, Analyst ; Michel Bédard, Analyst.

Witnesses: Peter Julian, M.P., Burnaby—New Westminster; Kennedy Stewart, M.P., Burnaby—Douglas; Mark Warawa, M.P., Langley.

Participants present: Elections Canada: Benoit Montpetit, Team Leader, Technical Expert, Electoral Geography.

Pursuant to Standing Order 32(5), the Committee resumed its study of the report of the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for British Columbia 2012, referred to the Committee on Monday, January 28, 2013.

Kennedy Stewart and Peter Julian made statements and answered questions.

At 11:44 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:47 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Mark Warawa made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:20 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

Pursuant to Standing Order 32(5), the Committee resumed its study of the report of the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Alberta 2012, referred to the Committee on Wednesday, December 12, 2012.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Report of the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Alberta 2012".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the report of the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for British Columbia 2012, the proposed budget in the amount of $2,100 be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the report of the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for New Brunswick 2012, the proposed budget in the amount of $2,100 be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the report of the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Saskatchewan 2012, the proposed budget in the amount of $2,100 be adopted.

At 12:51 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
