The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Jay Aspin, Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, Hon. Gerry Byrne, David Christopherson, Earl Dreeshen, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes, Daryl Kramp, Andrew Saxton, Bev Shipley and John Williamson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst; Alex Smith, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee take no action with regard to the correspondence received in 2011 from the Officers of Parliament.

 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 14, 2013, the Committee consider draft reports on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 or Thursday, March 7, 2013, depending on the scheduling of the hearing on Chapter 7, Long-Term Fiscal Sustainability — Finance Canada, of the Fall 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee schedule one (1) public hearing on Chapter 2, Grant and Contribution Program Reforms, of the Fall 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada and one (1) public hearing on Chapter 3, Protecting Canadian Critical Infrastructure Against Cyber Threats, of the Fall 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, in that order if possible, on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, Thursday, March 21, 2013 or Tuesday, March 26, 2013.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee schedule one (1) meeting to consider draft reports on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, Thursday, March 21, 2013 or Tuesday, March 26, 2013, depending on the scheduling of the hearings on Chapter 2, Grant and Contribution Program Reforms, of the Fall 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada and Chapter 3, Protecting Canadian Critical Infrastructure Against Cyber Threats, of the Fall 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, the Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 5, Oversight of Civil Aviation — Transport Canada, of the Spring 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
 

It was agreed, — That the motion adopted on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, to adopt the draft report on Chapter 5, Oversight of Civil Aviation — Transport Canada, of the Spring 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, be rescinded; and that the order for the presentation of the report to the House by the Chair be discharged.

 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, the Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 6, Special Examinations of Crown Corporations-2011, of the Spring 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

At 5:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
