The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in camera at 4:13 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Vice-Chair, Mike Wallace, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Peter Braid, Ron Cannan, Linda Duncan, Jacques Gourde, Jean-François Larose, Hon. John McCallum, Bernard Trottier and Mike Wallace.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst; Tina Lise LeGresley, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(vii) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of the process for considering the estimates and supply.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Strengthening Parliamentary Scrutiny of Estimates and Supply".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and the analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report the supplementary opinions from the New Democratic Party and from the Liberal Party, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than two (2) pages in length and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than noon on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

 

At 7:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
