The Standing Committee on International Trade met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Ron Cannan, Don Davies, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Marc-André Morin, Annick Papillon, Jasbir Sandhu, Bev Shipley and Devinder Shory.

 

Acting Members present: Phil McColeman for Ed Holder, Hon. Geoff Regan for Hon. Wayne Easter and Wai Young for Russ Hiebert.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Pulse Canada: Gordon Bacon, Chief Executive Officer. Simon Fraser University: John Harriss, Professor and Director, School for International Studies. Minaean International Corporation: Mervyn Pinto, President and Chief Executive Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) with India.
 

Mervyn Pinto, by videoconference from Vancouver, British-Columbia, and Gordon Bacon made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:37 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

John Harriss, by videoconference from Singapore, made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
