The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Greg Kerr, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Eve Adams, Sean Casey, Réjean Genest, Richard M. Harris, Greg Kerr, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, Irene Mathyssen, Annick Papillon, Peter Stoffer and Brian Storseth.

 

Acting Members present: Corneliu Chisu for Rob Anders.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: United States Department of Veterans Affairs: Margarita Cocker, Deputy Director, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Service, Veterans Benefits Administration; Michael Fisher, Program Analyst, Readjustment Counseling Service, Vet Center; Cheryl Flohr, Acting Deputy Director, Pre-Discharge and Retired Pay Programs, Veterans Benefits Administration; Joel Scholten, Associate Chief of Staff, Rehabilitation Services, Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center; Susan McCrea, Executive Assistant, Intergovernmental Affairs.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 24, 2011, the Committee resumed its review of the delivery of front-line health and wellbeing services for Canadian Veterans.
 

Cheryl Flohr, Margarita Cocker, Michael Fisher and Joel Scholten, made statements and, with Susan McCrea, answered questions.

 

Peter Stoffer gave notice of the following motion: That in the opinion of the Committee, Mr. Harold Leduc be invited as soon as possible to appear before the Committee at an in camera meeting.

 

At 5:07 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
