The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 3:47 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Bob Dechert, Daryl Kramp, Jean-Yves Laforest, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. John McKay, Thomas J. Mulcair, Massimo Pacetti, James Rajotte and Mike Wallace.

Acting Members present: Kelly Block for Hon. Maxime Bernier, Ron Cannan for Ted Menzies, Martha Hall Findlay for Hon. John McCallum, Pat Martin for Thomas J. Mulcair and Jean-Yves Roy for Robert Carrier.

Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, the Committee resumed its pre-budget consultations 2009.

John Anderson, Toby Sanger, Thérèse Brisson, Peter Valiquet, Russell Williams and Rees Kassen made statements and, with John Julian, Christopher Rudge, Debbie Murray and Denis A. St-Onge, answered questions.

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:09 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Arati Sharma, Spencer Keys, Pamela Fralick, Mary-Lou Donnelly, Brenda Kenny, Brian Anthony, Richard Philips and Sheri Strydhorst made statements and, with Denise Desautels and John Staple, answered questions.
