The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 1:02 p.m. this day, in Toronto “B” Room, Delta Toronto East, Toronto, Ontario, the Chair, Norman Doyle, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Robert Carrier, Olivia Chow, Norman Doyle, Nina Grewal, Hon. Jim Karygiannis, Wajid Khan, Ed Komarnicki, Thierry St-Cyr and Hon. Andrew Telegdi.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst; Sandra Elgersma, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: United Food and Commercial Workers Union: Stan Raper, National Coordinator, Agricultural Workers Program. Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants: Rivka Augenfeld, Public Interest Director. Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants: Philip Mooney, National President. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 22, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of undocumented and temporary foreign workers.
 

Stan Raper, Philip Mooney and Victor Wong made statements and, with Alli Amlani, answered questions.

 

At 2:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:11 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Mario Bellissimo, Carol Phillips, Raj Dhaliwal, Geraldine Sadoway and Sonia Singh made statements and answered questions.

 

At 3:06 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:11 p.m., the sitting resumed.
