The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 11:02 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Gerald Keddy, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Raynald Blais, Blaine Calkins, Rodger Cuzner, Randy Kamp, Gerald Keddy, James Lunney, Bill Matthews, Scott Simms and Peter Stoffer.

 

Acting Members present: Ken Boshcoff for Hon. Lawrence MacAulay and Roger Gaudet for Gérard Asselin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: François Côté, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Fisheries and Oceans: Larry Murray, Deputy Minister; George Da Pont, Commissioner, Canadian Coast Guard; Cal Hegge, Assistant Deputy Minister, Human Resources and Corporate Services; Wendy Watson-Wright, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science Sector; Sue Kirby, Assistant Deputy Minister, Oceans and Habitat Sector; Michaela Huard, Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy; Kevin Stringer, Director General, Resource Management Directorate, Fisheries and Aquaculture Management.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2007-2008 : Votes 1, 5 and 10 under FISHERIES AND OCEANS referred to the Committee on February 27, 2007.
 

The witnesses answered questions.

 

The Chair called Vote 1 under Fisheries and Oceans.

 

It was agreed, — That Vote 1 under Fisheries and Oceans less the amount voted in Interim Supply, be carried.

 

The Chair called Vote 5 under Fisheries and Oceans.

 

It was agreed, — That Vote 5 under Fisheries and Oceans less the amount voted in Interim Supply, be carried.

 

The Chair called Vote 10 under Fisheries and Oceans.

 

It was agreed, — That Vote 10 under Fisheries and Oceans less the amount voted in Interim Supply, be carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 1, 5 and 10 under Fisheries and Oceans less the amount voted in Interim Supply, to the House.

 

At 12:43 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
