The Subcommittee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills Development, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 705 La Promenade Building, the Chair, Ken Boshcoff, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Ken Boshcoff, Peter Julian, Carol Skelton and Robert Vincent.

 

Acting Members present: Susan Kadis for Ruby Dhalla.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin, Analyst. Parliamentary Information and Research Service: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Public Works and Government Services: Sue Hum-Hartley, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Branch; Serge Prud'homme, Director, Parliament Precinct, Real Property Branch; Ursula Ruppert, Director General, Real Property National Capital Area, Real Property Branch; George Ens, Accessibility Coordinator, Real Property Branch; Linda Gaucher, Director General, Official Languages, Staffing, Employment Equity and Learning; Dave Thompson, Director, Canada On-Line Services. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, the Subcommittee commenced its study of issues related to accessibility for persons with disabilities within the Federal Public Service.
 

Susan Hum-Hartley made a statement and, with Dave Thompson, Linda Gaucher, Georges Ens, Ursula Ruppert and Serge Prud'homme, answered questions.

 

At 5:08 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:09 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Charles Matthews made a statement.

 

At 5:21 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
