    The Clerk of the Committee: Good morning. I see that we have a quorum. I will now proceed with the election of the Chair. I am ready to receive nominations to that effect.

    Ms. Boivin?

    Ms. Françoise Boivin (Gatineau, Lib.): I nominate Mr. Massimo Pacetti.

    The Clerk: Ms. Boivin moves that Mr. Massimo Pacetti be elected Chair of the committee.

    Are there any other nominations?

    Mr. Penson.

    Mr. Charlie Penson (Peace River, CPC): We're happy with Mr. Pacetti.

    The next item of business is the election of the first Vice-Chair for the Official Opposition.

    Mr. Monte Solberg (Medicine Hat, CPC): I would like to nominate Charlie Penson for that position.

    The Clerk: It is moved by Mr. Solberg that Mr. Charlie Penson be elected vice-chair of the committee.

    The Clerk: I declare Mr. Charlie Penson duly elected vice-chair of the finance committee.

    I will now proceed with the election of the second Vice-Chair from an opposition party.

    Mr. Odina Desrochers (Lotbinière—Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, BQ): I move that Mr. Yvan Loubier be elected Vice-Chair of the committee.
