Mrs. Carmen DePape (Procedural Clerk): Honourable members of the committee, I see a quorum.

The Chair (Mrs. Susan Kadis (Thornhill, Lib.)): Good afternoon, and thank you for your support.

Very briefly, we do not have any witnesses today, as I'm sure you're all aware, but I'd like to say a brief word or two.

It is a great privilege for me to chair this committee. I have worked with many of you. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with you and welcoming the new members of our committee. I'm very confident that we'll continue to advance the interests of women across Canada. I know that we've worked very expeditiously already, with four reports tabled to Parliament. I can only imagine what we will accomplish in the next while with our new vice-chairs and the entire committee collectively.

I wanted to let you know that our next meeting will take place with witnesses on our next topic, parental benefits for self-employed workers, which we began in May. It will be held in the West Block, room 209, at 3:30 next Monday. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Before I adjourn, I would be remiss if I did not also thank our very recent former chair, Anita Neville, who is currently recovering very well from knee surgery, as I'm sure you're aware. She is the new parliamentary secretary for status of women, which is something I believe this committee also helped to inspire. I again congratulate her. Perhaps we would like to send a message of quick recovery and congratulations to her and thank her for all her work to date.

We also have the Russian delegation that we're very much looking forward to meeting.

    The meeting is adjourned.
