The Standing Committee on Finance met at 8:45 a.m. this day, in the Rutherford Room, Sheraton Grande Edmonton, Edmonton, Alberta, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Rick Casson, Nick Discepola and Sophia Leung.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal; Blayne Haggart, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Confederation of Alberta Faculty Associations: Jeremy Mouat, President; Alan Meech, Executive Director. Society of Citizens for Better Transit: Graeme Feltham, Member and General Manager of Mechanical Services at ATCO Gas. Alberta Research Council: Karen D. Beliveau, Vice President, External Relations and Alliances; Keith Salmon, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary. Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers: Greg L. Stringham, Vice President, Markets and Fiscal Policy; David Daly, Manager, Fiscal Policy. As Individual: Beverley Smith. Canadian Snowboard Federation: Tom McIllfaterick, Chief Executive Officer; Alexa Loo, Athlete Representative, Board of Directors. Pursuant to Standing Order 83(1), the Committee resumed its pre-budget consultations.
 

Panel I: Jeremy Mouat, Graeme Feltham, Karen D. Beliveau, Beverley Smith, Tom McIllfaterick, Alexa Loo and Greg L. Stringham made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 10:22 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:31 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Panel 2: Doug MacRae, Debra Gillet, Les Higa, Janet Poyen, John Keating, W.A. (Sam) Shaw and Patricia Clements made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 11:58 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
