Meeting No. 2

Thursday, October 28, 1999

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 8:40 a.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Larry McCormick, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, André Harvey, Joe Jordan and Larry McCormick.

Acting Member present: Grant McNally for Deborah Grey.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Chuck Strahl, Roger Gallaway, Yvon Godin, Bev Desjarlais, Carolyn Bennett, Antoine Dubé, Leon Benoit, Roy Bailey for Lee Morrison, John Herron, Myron Thompson, John Bryden and Randy White.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs adopted on Tuesday, October 19, 1999, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Tuesday, October 19, 1999.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 9:05 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:10 a.m., the sitting resumed.

At 10:40 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:46 a.m., the sitting resumed "In Camera".

At 11:05 a.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
