Thursday, June 1st, 2000
The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Lynn Myers, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Yvon Charbonneau, Réal Ménard, Lynn Myers, Paul Szabo, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
Acting Member present: Joe Jordan for Ted McWhinney.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier; Tim Williams, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Van Nelle Canada Limited: Ralph Levine, Managing Director. From the Small Companies Tobacco Manufacturers Association: Gilbert Cantin, Member; Joe Spriet.
Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Friday, May 12, 2000 the Committee resumed consideration of the Proposed Tobacco Regulations (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Tuesday May 31, 2000, Meeting No. 22).
Ralph Levine and Joe Spriet made statements and, with Gilbert Cantin, answered questions.
At 4:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
