MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 4

Tuesday, October 28, 1997

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met in camera at 9:45 o'clock a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Robert Bertrand, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, Hec Clouthier, Art Hanger, Judi Longfield, John O'Reilly, David Pratt, David Price, George Proud, John Richardson, Pierrette Venne and Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

The Committee proceeded to discuss their travel to Bosnia.

On motion of John O'Reilly, seconded by David Pratt, it was agreed, - That the Committee seek approval of the House to travel to Bosnia from November 6 to 13, 1997 and that the necessary staff do accompany the Committee.

John O'Reilly, seconded by Art Hanger, moved, - That the Committee adopt a budget in the amount of $29,727.25 for the purpose of its travel to Bosnia.

After debate, the motion was agreed to.

At 9:57 o'clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
