THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1997

The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:08 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 371, West Block, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, Colleen Beaumier, Scott Brison, John Cannis, Bill Graham, Gurmant Grewal, Ted McWhinney, Bob Mills, Denis Paradis, Julian Reed, Benoît Sauvageau, Bob Speller, Daniel Turp.

Acting Members present: Shaughnessy Cohen for Réginald Bégin; Monique Guay for Maud Debien.

Other Members present: Deborah Grey.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament
: James Lee and Patricia Bégin, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Mary Clancy, Consul General of Canada at Boston.

In accordance with Standing Orders 110 and 111, the Committee proceeded to examine the Order in Council Appointment (P.C. 1997-980) of Mary Clancy as Consul General of Canada at Boston.

Mary Clancy made a statement and answered questions.

At 10:34 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
