M-315 — April 19, 2007 — Mr. Allison (Niagara West—Glanbrook) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should amend Section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to extend property rights of Canadians.
M-316 — April 19, 2007 — Mr. Martin (Esquimalt—Juan de Fuca) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should provide the financial resources to hire 2,500 police officers across the country.
M-317 — April 19, 2007 — Mr. Martin (Esquimalt—Juan de Fuca) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should convene an independent review into Canada’s sentencing, correction, and parole systems for the purpose of identifying measures to reinforce public safety and improve the functioning of our judicial system.

M-320 — April 19, 2007 — Mr. Julian (Burnaby—New Westminster) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should recognize the national and international humanitarian contribution of the Tzu Chi Foundation, originating from Taiwan, and its humanitarian efforts in Canada and worldwide to provide medicine, education, disaster relief, environmental protection, and community volunteer services to people in need, by proclaiming May 13 as the Tzu Chi Day in Canada.
M-321 — April 19, 2007 — Mr. Cannis (Scarborough Centre) — That, in the opinion of the House, in relation to the proposed tax on distributions from publicly traded income trusts or publicly traded partnerships, other than those that only hold passive real estate investments, the government should repeal its planned 31.5 per cent tax regime and replace it with an immediate 10 per cent tax to be paid by such entities with the revenue to be shared equitably with provincial governments provided that the tax would be refundable to investors who are Canadian residents in order to: (a) minimize the loss of savings to Canadians who invested in income trusts; (b) preserve the strengths of the income trust sector; (c) create tax fairness by eliminating any tax leakage caused by the income trust sector; and (d) create neutrality by eliminating any incentive to convert from a corporation to an income trust purely for tax purposes.
M-322 — April 19, 2007 — Mr. Dion (Saint-Laurent—Cartierville) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should immediately and fully restore the Court Challenges Program to enhance the access that every person in Canada, regardless of wealth, should have to the protection of their Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
M-323 — April 19, 2007 — Mr. Owen (Vancouver Quadra) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should work towards stabilization of the situation in the Middle East by: (a) condemning Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s comments regarding the state of Israel and the Jewish people; (b) insisting that Iran cease its arming of terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah; (c) demanding that Iran honour its commitments under the United Nation’s (UN) Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; (d) calling on the UN and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to demand a halt of Iran’s uranium enrichment program under which it is developing the capacity to create nuclear weapons; (e) urging the UN and the IAEA to demand access to its investigators to certify that the program has ceased; and (f) in the event of non-cooperation with all the above imperatives, calling on the UN Security Council to impose wide-ranging sanctions on international travel by senior Iranian officials, freezing of foreign bank accounts, and halting all trade with Iran beyond humanitarian aid.
