The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 306, The Valour Building, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Braid, Ed Komarnicki, Hoang Mai, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Jeff Watson and David Yurdiga.

 

Acting Members present: Libby Davies for Mike Sullivan, Matthew Kellway for Isabelle Morin, Chungsen Leung for Wai Young and Jasbir Sandhu for Mike Sullivan.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Jean-François Lafleur, Procedural Clerk. Library of Parliament: Allison Padova, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: City of Vancouver: Penny Ballem, City Manager; Jerry Dobrovolny, Acting General Manager of Engineering; Fred Cummings, Vice-President, Infrastructure Management and Engineering, TransLink. City of Kitchener: Berry Vrbanovic, Mayor. City of Montreal: Lionel Perez, City Councillor, Member of the Executive Committee; Benoit Champagne, Acting Director of Transports, Infrastructures, Road Network and Transports Service; Chantal Morissette, Director, Water Service.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, April 23, 2015, the Committee resumed its study of updating infrastructure in Canada: an examination of needs and investments.
 

Berry Vrbanovic, by videoconference from Waterloo, Ontario, and Penny Ballem made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Lionel Perez, by videoconference from Montréal, Québec, made a statement and, with Chantal Morisette, by videoconference from Montréal, Québec, Penny Ballem, Jerry Dobrovolny and Fred Cummings, answered questions.

 

At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
