The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 228, The Valour Building, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Peter Braid, Ed Komarnicki, Hoang Mai, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Isabelle Morin, Mike Sullivan, Jeff Watson and Wai Young.

Acting Members present: David Yurdiga for Lawrence Toet.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Zachary Alaoui, Analyst ; Allison Padova, Analyst.

Witnesses: Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association: Jean-Marc Picard, Executive Director. RTL-Westcan Group of Companies: Grant Mitchell, President and Chief Executive Officer; Michael Royer, Vice President, Fleet Services. Alberta Motor Transport Association: Richard Warnock, President and Chief Executive Officer, Head Office.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, November 18, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the review of the Canadian transportation safety regime: transportation of dangerous goods and safety management systems.

Michael Royer, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, Richard Warnock, by videoconference from Calgary, Alberta and Jean-Marc Picard made statements and, with Grant Mitchell, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, answered questions.

At 12:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
