The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 8:45 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Peter Braid, Ed Komarnicki, Hoang Mai, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Isabelle Morin, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet, Jeff Watson and Wai Young.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Zachary Alaoui, Analyst ; Allison Padova, Analyst.

Witnesses: Pacific Airworthiness Consulting Inc.: Norman Chalmers, President. Canadian Federal Pilots Association: Daniel Slunder, National Chair. Union of Canadian Transportation Employees: Christine Collins, National President; Karen Houlahan, Technical Advisor; Michael Teeter, Political Advisor; Mike Wing, Policy Advisor.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, November 18, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the review of the Canadian transportation safety regime: transportation of dangerous goods and safety management systems.

Norman Chalmers, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, Daniel Slunder and Christine Collins made statements and answered questions.

At 10:10 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 10:18 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
