The Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met in camera at 1:11 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Scott Reid, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Tyrone Benskin, Jim Hillyer, Scott Reid and David Sweet.

 

Acting Members present: Libby Davies for Wayne Marston, Ed Komarnicki for Nina Grewal and Francis Scarpaleggia for Hon. Irwin Cotler.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Justin Mohammed, Analyst; Erin Shaw, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, the Subcommittee resumed its study of the Aftermath of the Rwandan Genocide: A Study of the Crisis of Children Born of Rape.
 

The Subcommittee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Aftermath of the Rwandan Genocide: A Study of the Crisis of Children Born of Rape committed during the genocide".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

 

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Subcommittee, in consultation with the Chair, issue a news release in relation to the study on the Aftermath of the Rwandan Genocide: A Study of the Crisis of Children Born of Rape.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee invite Angel Amílcar Colón Quevado and Luis Eliud Tapia Olivares to appear before the Subcommittee in Ottawa on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

 

At 2:04 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
