The Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee met in camera at 1:25 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Dean Allison, David Christopherson, Pat Martin, Phil McColeman, Larry Miller, Joe Preston and Chris Warkentin.

 

Other Members present: Rick Norlock and Rodney Weston.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Karen Thriepland, Coordinator, Logistics Services; Naim Bellemare, Senior Financial Advisor. Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Analyst. Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans: Georges Etoka, Clerk of the Committee. Standing Committee on National Defence: Evelyn Lukyniuk, Clerk of the Committee.

 

The Clerk gave a presentation of the financial status of the global envelope for committee activities.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 107(1), the Subcommittee resumed its study on budget submissions.
 

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on fisheries and Oceans be granted a travel budget of $109,150.50 to travel to Whitehorse and Dawson City, Yukon, Inuvik, Hay River and Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, in the Spring-Fall 2014, in relation to its study of Northern and Arctic fisheries.

 

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on National Defence be granted a travel budget of $52,020.20 to travel to Bagotville, Québec, Gagetown, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the Spring-Fall 2014, in relation to its study of the defence of North America.

 

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on National Defence be granted a travel budget of $17,041.92 to travel to Trenton, Ontario, Thule, Greenland and Alert, Nunavut, in the Spring-Fall 2014, in relation to its study of the defence of North America.

 

At 1:52 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
