The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Malcolm Allen, Jay Aspin, John Carmichael, David Christopherson, Ted Falk, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes and Stephen Woodworth.

Acting Members present: Sean Casey for Yvonne Jones.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Édison Roy-César, Analyst ; Alex Smith, Analyst.

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Michael Ferguson, Auditor General of Canada; Joe Martire, Principal. Department of Health: Sony Perron, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch; Valerie Gideon, Assistant Deputy Minister, Regional Operations, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch; Scott Doidge, A/Director General, Non-Insured Health Benefits Directorate, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch; Robin Buckland, Executive Director, Office of Primary Health Care, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee commenced consideration of Chapter 4, Access to Health Services for Remote First Nations Communities, of the Spring 2015 Report of the Auditor General of Canada referred to the Committee on Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

Michael Ferguson and Sony Perron made statements and, with Valerie Gideon and Robin Buckland, answered questions.

At 5:12 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
