The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Jay Aspin, David Christopherson, Ted Falk, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes, Yvonne Jones and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Dennis Bevington for Malcolm Allen and Pat Perkins for John Carmichael.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Édison Roy-César, Analyst; Alex Smith, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Michael Ferguson, Auditor General of Canada; Glenn Wheeler, Principal. Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development: Colleen Swords, Deputy Minister; Stephen Van Dine, Assistant Deputy Minister, Northern Affairs.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee commenced consideration of Chapter 6, Nutrition North Canada — Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, of the Fall 2014 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
 

Michael Ferguson and Colleen Swords made statements and, with Glenn Wheeler and Stephen Van Dine, answered questions.

 

Dennis Bevington moved, — That each party be given five more minutes for questions.

Debate arose thereon.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 3; NAYS: 6.

 

It was agreed, — That the opposition parties be given a total of five minutes for final questions.

 

At 5:14 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
