MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 3

Monday, November 4, 2013

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Dan Albas, Malcolm Allen, Jay Aspin, John Carmichael, David Christopherson, Alain Giguère, Dan Harris, Bryan Hayes, Bev Shipley, Scott Simms and Stephen Woodworth.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Daniel Benatuil, Analyst ; Alex Smith, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Dan Albas moved, — That the Committee proceed to sit in camera.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 7; NAYS: 2.

At 3:34 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:35 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee resumed consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee schedule in camera briefings with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, the Office of the Comptroller General of Canada and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat on Wednesday, November 6 and Monday, November 18, 2013.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the Order of reference of Wednesday, October 30, 2013, the Committee undertake a study of the Public Accounts of Canada 2013, and that a hearing be scheduled for Wednesday, November 20 or Monday, November 25, 2013.

It was agreed, — That a meeting to consider matters related to Committee business be scheduled for Wednesday, November 20 or Monday, November 25, 2013.

It was agreed, — That the Committee take note of the expected tabling of the Fall 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada on Tuesday, November 26, 2013; that, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee undertake a study of the Fall 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada following its referral to the Committee; and that the Auditor General of Canada be invited to appear before the Committee on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in connection with this study.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
