The Standing Committee on National Defence met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, the Hon. Peter Kent, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: James Bezan, Corneliu Chisu, Hon. Peter Kent, Joyce Murray, Rick Norlock and John Williamson.

 

Acting Members present: Dennis Bevington for Glenn Thibeault, Tarik Brahmi for Élaine Michaud, Robert Chisholm for Jack Harris and Ted Opitz for Cheryl Gallant.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Jessica Kulka, Procedural Clerk. Library of Parliament: Martin Auger, Analyst; Melissa Radford, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Rob Nicholson, Minister of National Defence.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2014-15: Vote 1b under COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY ESTABLISHMENT, Vote 1b under MILITARY POLICE COMPLAINTS COMMISSION, Votes 1b and 10b under NATIONAL DEFENCE, referred to the Committee on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.
 

The Chair called Vote 1b under COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY ESTABLISHMENT.

 

The Minister made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.
