The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in a televised session at 9:00 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Joyce Bateman, Raymond Côté, Cheryl Gallant, Hon. Mike Lake, Brian Masse, Peggy Nash, Hon. Judy Sgro, David Sweet and Mark Warawa.

Acting Members present: Ray Boughen for Joe Daniel.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst ; Édison Roy-César, Analyst.

Appearing: Hon. James Moore, P.C., M.P., Minister of Industry.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 20, 2014, the Committee commenced its study of the subject matter of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2014-15: Vote 5b under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY, Votes 1b and 10b under CANADIAN SPACE AGENCY, Votes 1b and 5b under ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF CANADA FOR THE REGIONS OF QUEBEC, Votes 1b, 5b and 10b under INDUSTRY, Votes 1b, 5b and 10b under NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF CANADA, Votes 1b and 5b under NATURAL SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING RESEARCH COUNCIL, Votes 1b and 5b under SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES RESEARCH COUNCIL, Vote 1b under STATISTICS CANADA and Vote 5b under WESTERN ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION.

The Minister made a statement and, with the witnesses, answered questions.

At 10:02 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:06 a.m., the sitting resumed.

At 10:47 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
