The Standing Committee on Health met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Ben Lobb, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Eve Adams, Libby Davies, Earl Dreeshen, Hon. Hedy Fry, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, Wayne Marston, Isabelle Morin and David Wilks.

Acting Members present: Jay Aspin for Joy Smith and Manon Perreault for Dany Morin.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Melissa Pang, Analyst ; Karin Phillips, Analyst.

Appearing: Hon. Rona Ambrose, Minister of Health.

Witnesses: Canadian Food Inspection Agency: Bruce Archibald, President; Paul Mayers, Associate Vice-President, Programs. Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2013-2014: Votes 1b, 5b, 10b, 11b, 13b, 15b, 20b, 45b, 50b and 55b under HEALTH, referred to the Committee on Thursday, November 7, 2013.

Hon. Rona Ambrose made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 4:34 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:37 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee resumed consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2013-2014. Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 5:18 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:20 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 5:22 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:23 p.m., the sitting resumed.

By unanimous consent, the Chair called Votes 1b, 5b, 10b, 11b, 13b, 15b, 20b, 45b, 50b and 55b under HEALTH.

It was agreed, — That the Chair report the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2013-2014 to the House.
