The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Mike Allen, Hon. Scott Brison, Nathan Cullen, Gerald Keddy, James Rajotte, Andrew Saxton and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

Acting Members present: Andrew Cash for Murray Rankin and Matthew Dubé for Guy Caron.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mark Mahabir, Analyst; André Léonard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Alliance of Student Associations: Jonathan Champagne, National Director. Canadian Intern Association: Claire Seaborn, President. Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne-française: Sylvain Groulx, Director General. MITACS: Robert Annan, Vice-President, Research and Policy. Polytechnics Canada: Nobina Robinson, Chief Executive Officer. University of Toronto Students' Union: Yolen Bollo-Kamara, President Elect.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of Youth Employment in Canada.
 

Jonathan Champagne, Claire Seaborn, Sylvain Groulx, Robert Annan, Nobina Robinson and Yolen Bollo-Kamara made statements and answered questions.

 

On motion of Andrew Saxton, it was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $38,000, for the study of Youth Employment in Canada, be adopted.

 

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
