The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in a televised session at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Hélène LeBlanc, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Niki Ashton, Joan Crockatt, Hélène LeBlanc, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Djaouida Sellah, Susan Truppe, Terence Young and Wai Young.

Acting Members present: Sean Casey for Kirsty Duncan.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst.

Appearing: Hon. K. Kellie Leitch, P.C., M.P., Minister of Status of Women.

Witnesses: Status of Women Canada: Anik Lapointe, Chief Financial Officer and Director, Corporate Services; Daniel Sansfaçon, Director General, Policy and External Relations; Linda Savoie, Acting Head of Agency.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2014-15: Votes 1 and 5 under OFFICE OF THE CO-ORDINATOR, STATUS OF WOMEN, referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 27, 2014.

The Chair called Vote 1 under OFFICE OF THE CO-ORDINATOR, STATUS OF WOMEN.

The Hon. K. Kellie Leitch made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Linda Savoie and Daniel Sansfaçon answered questions.

Vote 1 under OFFICE OF THE CO-ORDINATOR, STATUS OF WOMEN carried.

The Chair called Vote 5 under OFFICE OF THE CO-ORDINATOR, STATUS OF WOMEN.

Vote 5 under OFFICE OF THE CO-ORDINATOR, STATUS OF WOMEN carried.
