The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met in camera at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, David Anderson, Lois Brown, Paul Dewar, Nina Grewal, Hélène Laverdière, Romeo Saganash and Gary Ralph Schellenberger.

 

Acting Members present: Blaine Calkins for Peter Goldring and Francis Scarpaleggia for Marc Garneau.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Goody, Analyst; James Lee, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 7, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the situation in Syria.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Responding to the Conflict in Syria".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report supplementary opinions, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than one (1) page in length and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $29,800, for the study of the Protection of Children and Youth in Developing Countries, be adopted.

 

At 4:11 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
