The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 4:32 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charmaine Borg, Ray Boughen, Patricia Davidson, Pat Martin, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, LaVar Payne, Mathieu Ravignat, Scott Simms and Bob Zimmer.

 

Acting Members present: Arnold Chan for Scott Simms, Pierre-Luc Dusseault for Charmaine Borg and Costas Menegakis for Paul Calandra.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Miguel Bernal-Castillero, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: Daniel Therrien, Privacy Commissioner of Canada; Daniel Nadeau, Director General and Chief Financial Officer; Patricia Kosseim, Senior General Counsel and Director General, Legal Services, Policy and Research.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of the second Vice-Chair.

 

On motion of Costas Menegakis, it was agreed, — That Scott Simms be elected Second Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2014-15: Vote 5b under OFFICES OF THE INFORMATION AND PRIVACY COMMISSIONERS OF CANADA, referred to the Committee on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.
 

The Chair called Vote 5b under OFFICES OF THE INFORMATION AND PRIVACY COMMISSIONERS OF CANADA.

 

Daniel Therrien made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

Vote 5b under OFFICES OF THE INFORMATION AND PRIVACY COMMISSIONERS OF CANADA carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 5b, under OFFICES OF THE INFORMATION AND PRIVACY COMMISSIONERS OF CANADA to the House.

 

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
