The Standing Committee on International Trade met in camera at 11:01 a.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Ron Cannan, Don Davies, Russ Hiebert, Randy Hoback, Laurin Liu, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Marc-André Morin, Erin O'Toole and Devinder Shory.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Wayne Easter for Massimo Pacetti and Jeff Watson for Erin O'Toole.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst; Pascal Tremblay, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA).
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet with a delegation from the Parliament of Kenya on Thursday, June 12, 2014¸ and defray the hospitality expenses related to this meeting.

 

At 1:05 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:06 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA).
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between Canada and the European Union".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair prepare a press release to be issued immediately upon the tabling of the Report in the House of Commons.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair may make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held following the presentation of the Report to the House of Commons.

 

At 1:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
