The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met in a televised session at 3:46 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Robert Aubin, Olivia Chow, Hon. Denis Coderre, Joe Daniel, Ed Holder, Larry Miller, Isabelle Morin, Pierre Poilievre, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Randy Hoback for Pierre Poilievre.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Padova, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Steven Fletcher, P.C., M.P., Minister of State (Transport); Hon. Denis Lebel, P.C., M.P., Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2013-14: Votes 55 and 60 under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE and votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 under TRANSPORT referred to the Committee on Monday, February 25, 2013.
 

The Chair called Vote 55 under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE.

 

The Ministers made statements and, with Louis Lévesque, answered questions.

 

At 4:46 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:50 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Gerard McDonald, André Morency, Marie Lemay and Scott Streiner answered questions.

 

By unanimous consent, the Chair called Vote 60 under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE and Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 under TRANSPORT.

 

Votes 55 and 60 under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE and votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 under TRANSPORT carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 55 and 60 under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE and votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 under TRANSPORT to the House.

 

On motion of Jeff Watson, it was agreed, — That in relation to the study of Bill C-52, An Act to amend the Canada Transportation Act (administration, air and railway transportation and arbitration), the proposed budget in the amount of $8,900, be adopted.

 

At 5:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
