The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Merv Tweed, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Dan Albas, Olivia Chow, Hon. Denis Coderre, Isabelle Morin, Jamie Nicholls, Pierre Poilievre, Blake Richards, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet, Merv Tweed and Jeff Watson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Padova, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Automobile Association: Tim Shearman, President; Jeff Walker, Vice-President, Public Affairs. Canadian Union of Public Employees: Paul Moist, National President; Toby Sanger, Senior Economist; Kelti Cameron, Research Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on September 26, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the National Public Transit Strategy.
 

Tim Shearman made a statement and, with Jeff Walker, answered questions.

 

At 4:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Paul Moist made a statement and, with Toby Sanger, answered questions.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hold an informal meeting on Thursday, November 3, 2011, in order to meet with M. Philip Bradbourn, Chair of the Delegation of the European Parliament in charge of relations with Canada.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
