MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 32

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Joe Comartin, Nathan Cullen, Marc Garneau, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Greg Kerr, Alexandrine Latendresse, Tom Lukiwski, Joe Preston, Scott Reid, Nycole Turmel and Bob Zimmer.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Andre Barnes, Analyst ; Michel Bédard, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of the question of privilege relating to the threats to the Member for Provencher, the proposed budget in the amount of $975.75, for the period of 2012-2013 be adopted.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of the review of the Standing Orders, the proposed budget in the amount of $7,900, for the period of 2012-2013 be adopted.

It was agreed, — That Marc Mayrand, Chief Electoral Officer, be invited to appear at the meeting on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 for one hour in relation to its study of the Main Estimates 2012-2013.

It was agreed, — That Marc Mayrand, Chief Electoral Officer, be invited to appear at the meeting on Thursday, June 14, 2012 in relation to its study of the allegations of Wrong-Doing during the 41st General Election.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on agenda and procedure meet on Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to consider the Committee's work plan.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (3)(a)(iii), and the Order of Reference of Thursday, February 16, 2012, and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 9, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of the Review of the Standing Orders.

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

At 11:36 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
