The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Jay Aspin, Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, Hon. Gerry Byrne, David Christopherson, Earl Dreeshen, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes, Daryl Kramp, Andrew Saxton, Bev Shipley and John Williamson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst; Alex Smith, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motions adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 23, 2013, the Committee plan its upcoming meetings as follows:

• Tuesday, June 4, 2013: Consideration of draft reports; and

• Thursday, June 6, 2013: at 3:30 p.m., meet with a parliamentary delegation from Guyana; at 4:30 p.m., hold a public hearing on Chapter 10, Advance Funding — P3 Canada Fund, of the Spring 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada; and that, if necessary, the Committee schedule additional time at a later date for a further public hearing on this chapter.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), and further to the motions adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 and Thursday, May 23, 2013, the Committee undertake studies of the following chapters of the Spring 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, April 30, 2013:

• Chapter 8, Spending on the Public Security and Anti-Terrorism Initiative;

• Chapter 9, Employment Insurance Overpayments – Human Resources and Skills Development Canada; and

• Chapter 7, Federal Search and Rescue Activities.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, the Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 6, Special Examinations of Crown Corporations-2011, of the Spring 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Chapter 6, Special Examinations of Crown Corporations-2011, of the Spring 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, the Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 6, Transfer Payments to the Aerospace Sector — Industry Canada, of the Fall 2012 Report of the Auditor General of Canada referred to the Committee on Tuesday, October 23, 2012.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
