Meeting No. 90

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Jay Aspin, Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, Hon. Gerry Byrne, David Christopherson, Earl Dreeshen, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes, Daryl Kramp, Andrew Saxton, Bev Shipley and John Williamson.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst ; Alex Smith, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, further to the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, April 18, 2013, the Committee refer to the Office of the Auditor General of Canada the correspondence dated May 2, 2013 and May 6, 2013, and attachments, from Envoy Relocation Services Inc.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, the Auditor General of Canada be invited to appear before the Committee on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in connection with the Committee's study of the Main Estimates 2013-14: Vote 20 under FINANCE, referred to the Committee on Monday, February 25, 2013, Part III - Report on Plans and Priorities and Departmental Performance Report of the Office of the Auditor General of Canada.

It was agreed, — That the correspondence dated April 16, 2013 from the President of the Treasury Board be considered in conjunction with the Committee's study of the Public Accounts of Canada 2012.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the Spring 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, the Committee undertake studies of four (4) chapters, and that the choices be identified at the time of the next meeting of the Committee.

At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
