The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Ed Komarnicki, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Brad Butt, Rodger Cuzner, Joe Daniel, Carol Hughes, Ed Komarnicki, Kellie Leitch, Phil McColeman, Claude Patry, Manon Perreault and Devinder Shory.

Acting Members present: Dan Albas for Colin Mayes and Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe for Jean Crowder.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sandra Gruescu, Analyst ; André Léonard, Analyst . House of Commons: Christine Holke David, Procedural Clerk.

Witnesses: House of Commons: Rob R. Walsh, Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel. Royal Architectural Institute of Canada: Jill McCaw, Coordinator, Integration Project; Jim McKee, Executive Director. Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science: Christine Nielsen, Executive Director. Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists: Charles Shields Jr., Chief Executive Officer; Giulia Nastase, Manager, Special Projects.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on September 29, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of A Framework for Success: Practical Recommendations to Further Shorten the Foreign Qualification Recognition Process.

Rob R. Walsh made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:20 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Christine Nielsen, Jim McKee and Jill McCaw made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
